Our Values and Commitments: How Medicareplus Improves Patient Care with Products and Education

At Medicareplus, we pride ourselves on our values; our commitment to quality patient care is at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that providing reliable, trustworthy products and education for healthcare professionals is the key to improving patient care.

Doing so is essential for everybody’s wellbeing. After all, according to recent reports, 27,000 nurses and midwives have quit the NHS in the last year, largely due to job demands, the pandemic, and poor patient care.

Sara Gorton, the head of health at the public service union, Unison, states that "With more than 500 nurses and midwives leaving every week, there's no room for government complacency [about NHS staffing]."

We agree completely — and that’s why we make patient care a priority, which in turn increases practitioner satisfaction and therefore retention.

In this blog post, we will discuss how Medicareplus has helped improve patient care across the globe.

What Medicareplus stands for

It is our goal to provide high-quality, clinically supported goods — preserving skin integrity and promoting healing and quality of life, while still remaining competitive on price. We also believe in educating healthcare professionals so they can provide the best possible care for their patients.

Our education programs focus on evidence-based practices and current trends in wound care. These offerings are grounded in our values, which include:

  • Patient-centred care

  • Evidence-based care

  • Integrity

  • Providing long-term solutions

  • Sustainability

  • Commitment to quality

Let’s look at each of those in more detail.

Patient-Centric care

In a May 2022 report by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), 8.1% of the 6,458 nurses who quit last year did so due to the disheartening quality of care that patients receive.

At Medicareplus, we strive to improve the global standard of care for all patients by developing cutting-edge, patient-centred and evidence-based solutions that assist clinicians in enhancing clinical outcomes for persons with skincare issues, incontinence and stoma.

By doing so, we aim to increase morale and satisfaction among practitioners and therefore retention within the healthcare practitioner community.

Integrity

Despite significant government financial aid worth up to £8,000 per year for training, the number of domestically trained nurses has grown somewhat modestly for the NHS in England.

48% of staff who joined the NMC register were from abroad, of whom 66% were trained in India or the Philippines. The chief executive of the Royal College of Nursing, Pat Cullen, has raised concerns about the NHS taking nurses from low-income countries. "The UK's health and care workforce is proudly diverse, but it [recruitment] must be done ethically," she said.

Medicareplus International is dedicated to upholding its corporate social responsibility. We aim to achieve this by ensuring that we always operate in an ethically and socially responsible manner, with honest commercial practices and evidence-based goods supplied by prominent learning platforms.

Long-term solutions

"International recruitment is very much a short-term, quick-fix solution that may come at the expense of long-term workforce planning and domestic supply," James Buchan, a senior visiting fellow at the Health Foundation, said regarding the influx of trained nurses from abroad.

By improving patient care and, in turn, the satisfaction and retention of healthcare practitioners within the NHS, Medicareplus International endeavours to provide long-term solutions for both patients and healthcare practitioners, as well as the NHS as a whole.

Sustainability

Moving forward, we intend to make our whole supply chain more sustainable, participate in the NHS's Green Procurement initiative, and take steps to help our communities and charitable organisations that we support.

We're also dedicated to reducing paper usage, encouraging our clinical clients, economic purchasers, and other partners to utilise our large variety of digital resources wherever feasible rather than printed materials.

Evidence-based solutions

Medicareplus has healthcare solutions that are based on evidence. This means that our products and services have been tested and found to be helpful in solving a problem. Clinicians can rely on these solutions to help them provide better care for their patients. This, in turn, often leads to a better patient outcome.

One example of an evidence-based solution is the company’s decision to focus on patient education. By providing reliable and trustworthy information to patients, Medicareplus helps ensure that they are able to make informed decisions about their care, leading to better overall health outcomes.

Healthcare practitioners are happy when their patients are happy. By providing evidence-based solutions and improving patient care, we can boost the morale of health care practitioners and therefore retention levels within the NHS

Commitment to quality

Medicareplus is committed to providing quality products and services. This commitment starts with the development of reliable and trustworthy products. The company then takes steps to ensure that these products are available to patients when they need them.

This commitment to quality also extends to the company’s education offerings. Medicareplus provides HCPs with access to reliable and trustworthy information. This information is then used to help HCPs provide better care for their patients.

We believe that by providing quality products and education, we can help improve patient care across the globe. By making life better for patients, we can also make a positive impact on the NHS and, as a result, the world around us.

We hope that by sharing our values with you, we can show you how Medicareplus International is committed to improving patient care. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our products and services, please visit our website or contact us today. Thank you for reading!
